Today, 28 August 2008, Perfect World Philippines launched its new website.  It's a far cry to its last website which was a real drab.

Now lemme get down to business and start my review.


Page Layout

Its page lay out could pass as appealing to its target audience who are hip and young or young at heart. Except for the main page, it has a consistent Perfect World logo and navigation area.  It looks OK on my screen at 1440 by 900 resolution.  Alignment is superb.  Its homepage got everything you need at a glance.  However, due to its several flash contents, its homepage doesn't download in 10 seconds or less. If they could provide an option to view the page without those flash contents, the better.  Those who prefer site-content or have slow connection will surely appreciate this.

Aesthetic-wise, very impressive.  I like its red and black concept.  I'm prolly biased tho since I really like the colors red and black LOL

Now for the real review:

 

Under creating your character, it could have been better if they have included the maximum number of characters you could create.  Also, I believe that as an "anti-hack" feature, your character will be deleted after 6 days upon clicking the <Delete> button and that you still have an option to un-delete should you change your mind.  It's better if they have included this information as well.

In the Location Panel under Tracker Guide Section, it could've have been better if they have included what this stands for: (254, 677,↑ 28).  We have to think of the new gamers as well and they might not know anything about this.

Regarding Setting Waypoints,  it could've been better if they have also included information about the arrows' color and its relation to the mini map.

Quest Summary, I noticed that it lacks some of the Pet Domesticator's quests such as: Feeding Pets and Call two of Domesticator.

Also, where can you find Young Mandrakes? XD

In summary, good job PW team for having such a splendid Starter Guide! ^_^

I'll see if I can make a review on PW's Advanced Starter Guide.

Oh yeah, what else is new >_<

I've so much to do but I got so little time:

• improvement/suggestions for PW
• stuff for RF
• look for a job
• help my mom revise a manual

Only 4 tasks  but very time-consuming.

In my opinion, PW needs a total make over. Hahahaha!  No offense to the PW team but it's true.  Their old site suck big time.  You're lucky if you were not able to see it.  It didn't have much info and the site was so plain looking.  I had to look for other sites if some of my friends asked about PW.  Why?  It didn't have much information with regard to game features, those stuff that could really entice people to play the game. 

It didn't have much info on its classes, battle system, etc.  I wanted to see images of each classes and what they can do, I wanna see the merchandise in the item mall with clear/definite descriptions, I wanted aerial-water-land battles mentioned, the pet system, mounts, flights, AFK vending (those cute kitties), auction, territorial battle, phoenix war council, what's in store for the competitive players, etc.  The NPC and monster location in their quest guide sucks.  In short, I wanna see everything that could make PW and would be-PW players' lives in-game easier and fun.

It's a good thing that their new site is definitely better (kudos to the PW team) but am still not yet done checking the site so let's see.  Hahahaha! By the way, it's better to check out SamHok's Blog every now and then to know what's new regarding PW. ^_~

I also wanna contribute something to RF.  Well compared to PW, RF's kind stable already.  They just need more and prolly new Vanguards to help out the RF team.  With what's happening now to RF, it definitely needs a lot of pizzazz - more events, better customer service, a lot of exposure from the VgDs and GMs that they're doing something for the community to compensate for what's happening.  Hey, it's not the players' fault that hacks and bugs are present in RF.

Then, I have to look for a job.  It has been 10 months already and I still don't have a job >_< 

And then there's this more or less 200 page-manual that my mom needs help with. And it's also urgent.

I would love to do all these tasks but I've so little time!  I only have 24 hours! Hahahaha!  I don't wanna sleep anymore! (I'm allergic to sleep and rest by the way)

I don't need help, no worries.  I'll come around I know.  In time everything will just fall into its place.  God is good.  Amen! ^_^

 

 

I had a very weird sorta creepy day yesterday.

I noticed a toilet tissue tube in between the gap from the door of my bedroom to its door frame when I woke up yesterday.  Weird, because I don't remember putting it there and I don't think I've ever seen that before.  But it was there.  Creepy.  Chino told me to leave the thing as is, and so I did.

As I've mentioned in one of my blogs, I needed to go to Pasig and Greenhills because I had errands to do and needed to get the Wii fixed in those places respectively.  And I was able to (finally) yesterday.  I left my PC running and turned off the monitor before leaving my place.

I went to Pasig past 11AM and my mom wasn't there.  She went to Med El to have the hearing aid of my brother fixed. Zzzzzzzzz.  One of my brothers was playing Wii so I joined him instead.  Yeah, I don't hafta go to Greenhills anymore to have the Wii fixed. 

My mom arrived with Red Ribbon goodies past 7pm. Yay!  She wanted me to revise a certain manual, which consists of 200 pages more or less >_< And since she got home late, I was able to start updating the manual at around 8PM and was able to go home past 11PM.  Good thing she allowed me to take home the manual so I could work on it at home (as if! >_<)

When I got home,  I noticed that the tissue tube was still there.  However, my CPU was turned off and my monitor turned on.  Errrr.

I got home really late and it was a good thing Chino waited for me in YM via Windows Live and then continued doing PW quests till 5AM.  Thanks Chino, I so appreciate it ^_^.

WTF for tissue tube, my CPU, and my monitor. >_<

 

 

I was able to get hold of a Perfect World Starter Kit in one the events and I wanna share with you how the process went.

I got meself a Starter Kit for Yu Mang.  According to the GM there, there are 6 kinds of Starter Kit, one for each class.  Just take note of the first 4 letters in the Username:

• PWFS - Fa Shih
• PWWS - Wu Xia
• PWYM - Yu Mang
• PWYL - Yu Ling
• PWYS - Yao Shou
• PWYJ - Yao Jing

 

Lemme just copy and type here the instructions from the Starter Kit.  I've provided some screenies for you as well.

 

 

To get your Free Level 30 Character, simply follow these simple steps and you'll be on your way to becoming a legend in Perfect World!

1.  Log in to the game using the Account Information provided in the Starter Kit.  Make sure Serpent Server is selected.

   

2.  Create your Character.  Make sure the Race is the same as the one indicated in your starter kit.  Also, don't bother changing the appearance of your avatar when using starter kits, it has its "default" avatar when you log back in after creating your character.  I will show you the default avatar of the female Yu Mang later.

3.  After Creating your Character, exit the game.

4.  Go to this website: http://account.levelupgames.ph/pw/starterkit

5.  Input the Username and Password Provided and click "Submit"

    

6.  Choose your character from the pulldown menu and click "Submit"

     

      You will see this in your screen if you have successfully registered your character.

     

7.  Log back in to the game and enjoy your new Level 30 Character!

After I created my character, I noticed that I was in Louying Village when I got inside the game.  However, after closing the game and registered my character online, I was already in North City of Sword Village and I was still Level 1 after I logged back in >_<  It also had the following items in its bag:

  

• Wooden Bow
• 194 greener's arrow
• 10 Body Double
• Bronze Amulet - gives the character 100,000 added HP once equipped; it will restore your HP to full capacity when it goes below 50%
• Bronze Hierogram - gives the character 150,000 added MP once equipped; it will restore your MP to full capacity when it goes below 50%
• 50 Log
• 100 Animal Fur
• 30 Rough Orange Jade

I just dunno what those last 3 items are for >_<

Also, you hafta kill one monster first before your character gets to Level 30.  The monsters outside North City are just Level 3 but quite strong already so better equip those Bronze Amulet and Bronze Hierogram by right-clicking on them.

I'm not just sure with the other classes tho if it's also like this.

You may link this account to your existing MYLU account.  You can also add more characters to this account.  I suggest you just buy a Disguise Reel in the Item Mall so you could change your character's appearance, that will cost you 2000 gold (P100 Top Up value).  Hey, 2000 gold for a level 30 character ain't that bad already. ^_^
